Services for Horace Malcolm Tingle will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at Rose-Neath Mansfield Chapel at 11 a.m. Visitation will be held at on Monday, October 28, 2019 at Rose-Neath Mansfield Chapel from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Officiating the services will be Brother David Radford and Pastor Chris Lowe.
Horace Malcolm Tingle was born on April, 5, 1920 in Red River Parish to his loving parents, George Tingle and Lula Murphy. Horace was a soldier in the United States Army in the 36 Armored Division 3F Company and a two-time Purple Heart recipient, touring in France and Belgium during World War II. He was a devout member of the North DeSoto Church of God in Stonewall, Louisiana, one of four founding members of the Oakmont Church of God in Shreveport, Louisiana, and retired Superintendent of the Louisiana Department of Transportation Development. He was known as a real man's man with his love of God, hunting, fishing, and mowing the lawn. His close family and friends will always remember him as the sweetest, most loving man. Horace was always humble and thankful for everything others did for him.
Horace was preceded in death by his loving wife of 76 years, Maggie Theola Tingle; parents, George and Lula; brothers, James Tingle, Levi Tingle, and Leroy Tingle; sisters, Ila Tingle and Evelyn Perkins.
He is survived by son, Stephen Tingle, and wife, Donna; grandchildren, Tammy Lowe, and husband, Chris, Stephen Shaw Tingle, and fiancé, Tara McCann; great-grandchildren, Jeremiah Lowe, Savannah Carter and Landen Carter; brother, Lorrie Tingle, and wife, Audrey; sisters, Allie Behaeghe, and Ina Warren.
Honoring Horace as pallbearers will be Kyle Broughton, Chris Dowdy, Alan Edwards, Andy Sims, Rodney Thomas, and Kenny Thomas. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Gill, Oscar Ray Sullivan, David Tingle, and Jimmy Thomas.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks memorials to be made to North DeSoto Church of God's mission fund, 2045 US-171, Stonewall, LA 71078.
The family would like to sincerely thank Dr. Robert Hernandez and PA Laura Perkins of Willis Knighton Pierremont. They would also like to thank Lois Pierre, the most loving caregiver ever, as well as Superior Hospice with a special thanks to Terry Tisdale.
