Hosea Remedies, Jr.

Funeral services celebrating the life of Mr. Hosea Remedies, Jr. will be held on Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at 10:00 AM at Kilpatrick's Rose-Neath Many Chapel with Brother Phillip North and Brother Dean Johnson officiating; a graveside service will immediately follow at St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery in Zwolle, LA with Rev. Francis Kamau officiating. A visitation for him will be held on Tuesday, August 25, 2020 from11:00 AM-9:00 PM with a rosary beginning at 6:45 PM. The visitation will continue before the funeral on Wednesday from 8:00AM-10:00 AM at the funeral home. Hosea was born July 29, 1937 in Zwolle, LA to Sarah (Ezernack) Remedies and Hosea Remedies, Sr. and entered into rest on August 20, 2020 in Shreveport, LA. Hosea was a hard worker all of his life who provided for his family and loved ones. Since he was one of eighteen children, he knew the value of earning an honest living. He was always willing to lend a hand to anyone or for any good cause. His favorite hobbies included spending time with his grandchildren, playing with his puppy, and drinking a cold beer. Preceding him in death were his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Hosea Remedies, Sr.; his wife, Nelwyn Deason Remedies; his son, James Dean "Ekey" Remedies, Sr.; his grandson, Kurt Craig, his sisters, Ruby, Elvira, & Polly; his brothers, Phillip, Richard, John A., & James; and 7 infant brothers and sisters. Those left behind to cherish his memory are his daughter, Mary D. Procell & husband, Sammy of Noble, LA; his daughter, Felicia A. Whitlow & husband, Wayne of Converse, LA, his sister, Dorothy Harper of Zwolle, LA; his sister, Mary Lee Mouser & husband, Johnny of Keatchie, LA, his sister, Mattie B. Sepulvado of Zwolle, LA; he also has his grandchildren, Marla, Krystal, Kari, James, Terry, Brandy & Joshua along with 12 great grandchildren. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and other relatives. Honoring him as pallbearers will be Jeffery Remedies, Jimmy Ray Mouser, Kenny John Remedies, Mike Sepulvado, Phillip (Coon) Remedies, Robert (Bob) Parrie, Joshua Whitlow, and Trenton Harvey. Honorary pallbearers will be James Remedies, Jr., Terry Sepulvado, Marty Sepulvado, Mike (Black Bird) Remedies, and Ronnie Fuller. Hosea's family would like to thank all the staff at DeQuincy Medical Center and at Harmony House, especially Alex, Jerome, Kiara, and Mrs. Cindy for the great care and attention shown to him during his illness and time at both places. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his name to one of his favorite charities of either St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to the Ronald McDonald House.
