This world will never understand what a loss it has suffered, in the passing of my dad. Julian Kennieth Walker, would have been 83 years old on November 14th . One of this country's most talented carpenters, the best in my opinion! I learned so much from him growing up and working with him as a young boy. When I was young, he did it all, plumbing, electrical, hvac, roofing and all the masons work as well. He could do it all! He was the one that many came to, when they could not figure out how to cut the rafters, to make the roof pitch work with multiple pitch roof designs etc. I can remember several times, other carpenters in our area, showing up on his job site, with a set of plans asking dad how to cut rafters to make the roof lines and valley's properly come together. He was a truly talented carpenter! He corrected many architects and engineers when their designs would not work, and I think enjoyed telling them when they were wrong...lol He was a Strong-minded man, especially if you were on his payroll, he fully expected you to give him a full day's work and earn your wages...fired me several times...lol But he always gave me the opportunity to go back to work, told me he fired me because he loved me! And he truly did. It taught me how to work, and the importance of the job I did, how to be dedicated and to take pride in my work. He had a big heart and gave of himself to family and anyone he thought was in need. He was a Christian man and supported his church and church family whole heartedly! He was my father, teacher, guidance counselor, my best friend. I loved him dearly! I will miss him more than anyone can imagine! Rest in Peace, Dad!
