HOUSTON, LA: A graveside service was held for Jack Gilbert, age 90, at Summerfield Cemetery of Summerfield, LA, Saturday, March 21, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. with Bro. Scott Lowery, officiating.
Jack was born September 6, 1929, in Shreveport, LA, to H. L. and Leslie Springer Gilbert. He entered into rest on Thursday, March 19, 2020, at Claiborne Rehabilitation in Homer, LA.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 65 years, Jeannie Sayers Gilbert; three brothers; one sister; and a nephew, Mark Branch.
He is survived by his niece, Carlene Branch; great niece, Sharon B. Dragland; great nephew, Jason L. Branch; and four great great-nephews, Nicholas L. Branch, Kasey Williams, John M Dragland and Mathew Dragland.
In lieu of flowers honoring Jack, his family suggests memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
