BOSSIER CITY, LA - Funeral services for Jack Leachman, 79, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at Cypress Baptist Church, Benton, LA with Masonic Rites. Officiating will be Rev. John Fream, pastor of Cypress Baptist Church, and Rev. Tommy Patton, also of Cypress Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Lay Cemetery, Benton, LA with United States Air Force Honors. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Bossier City, LA. Jack was born in Cahaba Heights, AL to William Jackson Leachman and Susan Howard Leachman and died May 30, 2015, from surgery complications, in Shreveport, LA. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, served in Vietnam and retired as a Senior Master Sergeant. Jack also retired from the Bossier Parish Sheriff's Department after 20 years of service. He was a member of Cypress Baptist Church and a member and past Master of Cypress Masonic Lodge #89. He enjoyed life to its fullest, including traveling, playing games (especially dominos), watching the Cowboys, and driving his red Mustang. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife of 49 years, Hazel Dalrymple Leachman and siblings, Gene Leachman, Audrey Venable and Violet Tucker. Jack is survived by his wife, Sarah Leachman; daughters, Rita Gail Temple and husband, Tony, Jackie Sue Maggio and husband, Sam, Marcia Lynn Leachman and fiancé, Terry Rourk, and Christie Mitchell and husband, Jarrod; stepson, Barry Plunkett and wife, DeeAnne; grandchildren, Deborah Maxwell (Robbie), Joey Maggio (Becky), Jennifer Tubb (John), Amanda King (Brady), Susanne Temple, Ashley Coker, Kelly Mitchell, Shelby Plunkett, Dylan Plunkett and great grandchildren, Gabi and Malachi Maxwell and Wyatt Tubb. He is also survived by siblings, Charles Leachman, Mary Lou Hines, Ted Leachman (Evelyn), Margie Weeks, Bill Leachman and brothers-in-law, Carlis Venable and Jim Hines. Honoring Jack as pallbearers are Larry Wise, George McKinney, Billy Dalrymple, Sonny Andrews, Roger Bumgardner and W.L. Creamer. Honorary pallbearers are Jerry Wise, Brady King and his Masonic Lodge brothers. The family suggests memorials to the Cypress Baptist Church Building Fund, Shriner's Hospital for Children or the Louisiana Baptist Children's Home.
