Jacqueline Wendt Wilson

Jacqueline Wendt Wilson was born on Tuesday, the 27th day of December, 1946 in Brooklyn, New York. She was the eldest child of four, born to William (Bill) and Jacqueline Wendt. Our legendary LA Woman, was finally able to Break On Through To The Other Side and passed from this life peacefully Sunday, December 13, 2020 just a few days shy of her 74th birthday. Jacci not only loved to live life, but unequivocally lived it well, loved classic rock and roll, and how The Doors lit her fire! Jacci was a woman of faith, a strong leader and a well-known force to be reckoned with. Jacci was a pioneer in the local nightlife and entertainment industry. She was one of the first female nightclub owners in a male dominated club culture. For nearly half a century, she successfully made a life by providing the citizens and tourists of the Shreveport/Bossier area tasteful entertainment. Those that knew her will tell you she was a legend amongst the nightclub and entertainment industry within our community and those who didn't...really missed out! As many people know, "Jacci" was so much more than an entertainment industry entrepreneur. She was their loving mother, grandmother and closest friend. Working in the entertainment industry, she often found herself in the role as a second mother to a great many employees. In fact, "Momma Jacci" as she was known to many, was always there with a smile to always encourage and promote the importance of education, love and family. Usually right after the few choice words of wisdom she had for you, regardless of whomever or whatever life lesson was being learned, Jacci had her very own unique brand of philosophical sarcasm guaranteed to open your eyes in any given situation. She further left her mark in the world by the impact she made installing lasting character virtues in the lives of those she touched by influencing us: "to always do the right thing." She is survived by her son, John R. Wilson, "JR"; her grandchildren, John R. Wilson "JJ" of Vancouver, Washington, Jacey Wilson of Baton Rouge, and Jacob Wilson of Shreveport. She is also survived by her brother, Bill Wendt of Florida; sister and brother-in-law, Pammy and Bruce Gigax Jr. of Ohio, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, William and Jacqueline Wendt; her brother, "Mikey" Michael Robert Wendt; husband, Joe Wilson, and the man who would become the love of her life, Joe Robertson. Jacci was a beloved daughter, mother, sister, grandmother of three, aunt of and great-aunt of several but a friend to many more. Jacci's legacy is the positive and profound influence she had on the lives of so many around her, evident by the countless inspirational recounted stories that have been told over the years. The family wishes to acknowledge with heartfelt thanks to Laurie Willis, who faithfully cared for Ms. Jacci in her home, at her bedside throughout the day and night to honor her wishes. Additionally, Tim Huck, Ernest and Tina Palmisano for their compassion and generosity. Last but not least, the love and compassion shown by the entire staff of Hospice Home Health Care will always be remembered and cherished. Jacci held firm to her Christian beliefs who loved the Lord faithfully and was a devout Catholic member of St. Mary of the Pines. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at 10 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana 71118. Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating the service will be Father Joseph Howard. Honorary pallbearers will be Ernest Palmisano, "JJ" John R.
