Funeral services honoring the life of James C. Crow, Sr. will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Bro. Jimmy Price and Bro. Clinton Alford. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 18, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
James was born on November 6, 1938 in Natchitoches, Louisiana to M.L. Crow and Ruth Antley Crow. He entered into eternal rest on January 15, 2021 in Mansfield, Louisiana.
James was in the National Guard and a Noble Mason. He was a longtime member of Noble Baptist Church in Noble, Louisiana.
Preceding James in death are his parents, M.L. and Ruth Crow; brother, Kenneth; and son-in-law, Michael. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Dora Frantom Crow of Mansfield, Louisiana; son, James Crow Jr. and wife Christine Crow of Fort Worth, Texas; daughters, Darlene C. Lipp of Keithville, Louisiana and Cindy C. Freeman and husband Ray Freeman Jr. of Mansfield, Louisiana; sister, Myrtice C. Minter and husband Harold Minter of Columbia, South Carolina; grandchildren, Marie, Beth, Benjamin, Christi, Jackie, Misty, Jimmy, LaRay, Kaitlyn, Victoria, and Jasmine; 20 great-grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews including honorary nephew, James Michael Godejohn and life-long friend of 55 years, Peggy Godejohn.
The family would like to thank the staff of DeSoto Regional Hospital, DeSoto Parish EMS, and Superior Hospice for all of their care, love, and support. The family would also like to thank Peggy Godejohn for all of her help and support throughout this emotional journey with James.
