James Dalton Tatum

James Dalton Tatum, 91, died peacefully with his family surrounding him on Friday, August 9, 2019 in Houston, Texas. A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 16, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Centuries Memorial Cemetery in Shreveport, LA. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Westbury Baptist Church in Houston. James was born in Mansfield, Louisiana on May 17, 1928. He was a graduate of Mansfield High School and Louisiana Tech University. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War. Following his service, he was an accountant with the oil and gas industry for over 35 years, working in both Louisiana and Texas. He liked to tinker with cars and watch the stock market. He was a faithful member of Westbury Baptist Church for over 40 years. James was preceded in death by his parents, James Wilson Tatum and Maggie Hood Tatum; his brothers, Wilson Benton Tatum and Scott Lamar Tatum; his sisters, Marie Tatum Cunningham Sutton, Sibyl Tatum Edwards, Inez Tatum Webb, and Maudie Tatum. He is survived by his wife of 62 years Frances Tatum, daughter, Cindy Tatum, and son, David Tatum and wife, Dorisanne Cooper and their son, Adam Tatum.
