James Edward Ivey, Sr.

Funeral services for James Edward Ivey, Sr., 67, will be held on Monday, February 8, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. A visitation will be held Sunday, February 7, 2021 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home. Officiating the service will be Reverend Joe Wiggins. James was born on June 27, 1953 to Jessie Early Ivey and Betty Jean Mitchell Ivey in Shreveport, Louisiana and passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 in Shreveport, Louisiana. James was a resident of Shreveport and self-employed at Ivey Carpet and Interiors. James is preceded in death by his parents; cousins, Mike Lambert, Debbie Lambert, Mark Baldwin and Karen Mitchell. Left to cherish his memory is his sister, Rhonda Ivey Bennett; brother, Robert Ivey and wife, Toni; children, Stephanie Ivey Bliss, Candice Ivey Fort and husband, Chris, and James Edward "Little Jim" Ivey, Jr. and wife, Lauren; wife of 25 years and mother of his three children, Glynda Ivey; grandchildren, Dalton Bliss, Barron Fort, Aubrey Fort, James Edward Ivey, III; nephews and nieces, John Bennett, Preston and Hailey Ivey, Blake and Amanda Ivey Holmes; great nephews and nieces, McKenna Ivey, Addison Ivey and Maverick Ivey. Big Jim was loved by so many people and will be deeply missed. The family would like to send their sincere thank you to all of the staff at Ochsner LSU Health for their diligence in taking care of him during this time.
