Janice Marie Methvin, 63 of Kilgore, Texas went home to be with the Lord and Savior on February 3, 2020 in Longview, Texas. Ms. Methvin was born to Wilton Alvin Methvin and Wanda Janice Crumpton Methvin on August 28, 1956 in Shreveport, Louisiana. She graduated from Southwood High School in 1974. Ms. Jan grew up working at their family hardware store, Methvin's Ace Hardware where she was known for her friendly smile and her surprisingly vast amount of knowledge regarding any and all things hardware. She dedicated her life to loving and caring for her family especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed many special moments with them that now have become priceless memories. Ms. Methvin was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents, Emmett and Laura Methvin and Gordon and Vera Crumpton. She is survived by her children, Tiffany DeBlieux husband Blake, William "Little Will" Parish, Amy Wilkerson husband Thomas; grandchildren, Meghan Marie Johnston, Jacob Alan Renfroe, Macy McKenna DeBlieux, Colby Ryan Wilkerson, Brooklyn Elizabeth Wilkerson, Garrett Cole Roper, William Keller; and great granddaughter, Presley Nicole Roper; brother, Alvin Lamar Methvin and the numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and the many adopted children that she claimed as her own. Honoring Ms. Methvin as pallbearers will be Terry Methvin, Rob "Robby" Methvin, Richard Adkinson, David "Peanut" Adkinson, Kaden Clark and Carter Clark. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 7, 2020 at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel, 2500 Southside Drive, Shreveport, LA. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at the funeral home. Reverend Billy Crosby will officiate. She will be laid to rest next to her mother and father at Centuries Memorial Park, ?8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, LA. The family request any memorials please be made to Gingerbread House, 1700 Buckner St # 101, Shreveport, LA 71101. Ms. Janice was loved by so many and will be greatly missed.
