A celebration of the life of Jean Simmons Lambert will be held 3:00 p.m. January 20, 2018 at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to service time at the funeral home. Mrs. Lambert was born December 18, 1932 and entered into heaven on January 6, 2018 after a lengthy illness. Jean was born and raised in Mansfield, LA and moved to Shreveport after her marriage to Billy Lambert in 1952. Jean\'s primary occupation was that of homemaker and mother. Jean had multiple hobbies including gardening, reading, exercising and traveling. She was very adventuresome and traveled in later years to Africa, Europe, South America and many of the US National Parks. She enjoyed hiking, kayaking and rafting. She was especially blessed to be able to take adventures with her grandchildren. After retirement, Jean joined the Northwest Louisiana Master Gardner Society and was an active member since 2006. She was also a lifelong member of Summer Grove Baptist Church and in recent years Woodridge Baptist Church. She was predeceased by her parents, W.R. and Iva Simmons, her husband, Billy. T. Lambert, her brothers Raymond, Winton and Floyd Simmons. She is survived by her children, Ronald Lambert and wife Stephanie, Lisa Lambert, and Eric Lambert and wife Crystal; her grandchildren, Piper Lasagna and husband Justin, Ireland Rose Lambert, Layton Lambert, Alicia Ardoin, Marc McConnell and fiancée Abbie, and Jeremy McConnell and wife Joanna; and 3 great-grandchildren, Savannah Ardoin, Riley, and Kai McConnell. The family wishes to thank her doctors Dr. Tivakaran, Dr. Aura, and Southern Care Hospice for their dedicated and compassionate care during her illness. The family also wishes to especially thank Home Health Professionals and their kind workers who became extended family - Lisa, Constance, Meme, Hazel, and Denise who took such loving care of Jean the last months of her life. In lieu of flowers the family requests that you make a memorial to the charity of your choice if you wish. If you do not have a favorite charity consider the Northwest Master Gardner\'s Association.
