BENTON, LA - Services for Jim Wells will be 1 p.m. Friday, February 2, 2018 at Rose-Neath Bossier Chapel. Officiating will be Michael Orr. Interment will follow at Lay Cemetery, Benton, LA. Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Rose-Neath Bossier. Jim was born June 11, 1947 in Benton to Dixie Lewis and Mary Louise Wallace Wells and passed away January 29, 2018 in Bossier City, LA. He was retired from The Legal Recorder, reporting daily legal news events in Bossier and Caddo parishes and surrounding area, he also published the My Bossier Blog. Jim was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ellen Wells; his parents and brothers, Dixie Wells and Tommy Wells. Jim is survived by a son, Murray D. Wells and wife, Deborah of Ellensburg, WA; Anne Wells Coleman of Bossier; sister, Zelda Orr Rhodes and husband, J.B. of Bossier City; brother, John David Wells and wife, Connie of Fountain Valley CA; grandchildren, Chelsea, Tyler, Cody, Aubrey, and Mary; great grandchildren, Gabby and Garrison; nieces, nephews and many friends, all who will miss him dearly. Honoring Jim as pallbearers will be Tyler Bruce, Michael Orr, Chris Rice, John Wells, Chuck Shaw and Steve Becker. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
