Jimmie Sherrill, Sr.

Arcadia - Funeral services will be held for Jimmie Sherrill, Sr., age 73, at 2:00 p.m., on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at Union Baptist Church. Bro. Bill Staples will officiate. Interment will follow at Old Athens Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Monday at Union Baptist Church. Jimmie was born January 9, 1943 in Springhill, Louisiana to Henry and Christine McClemore Sherrill. He passed away Friday, January 22, 2016 at his home with his loving wife by his side. He worked as a truck driver. Jimmie was a member of Union Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents Henry and Christine Sherrill, son Jimmie Sherrill, Jr. and great-grandson Hunter Wayne Hercules. Jimmie survived by his wife Wanda Thompson Sherrill of Arcadia, LA, daughter Rhonda Kennedy and husband David of Choudrant, LA, daughter-in-law Esther Sherrill of Tucson, AZ, sister Betty Sue Michel of Atlanta, GA, brother Jerry Sherrill and wife Diane of Arcadia, LA, by 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren and by numerous other loving family and friends. Pallbearers will be Thomas Smith, Kevin Basham, John D. Futch, Jr., Cody McAdams, Jacob Cash, Anthony Crihfield, Lee Trantham and Chuck West.
