Funeral service for Jimmy Davis, 82, will be held at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at Shreveport Baptist Temple, 288 Flournoy Lucas Rd, Shreveport, LA 71106, with Rev. Howard Hall officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery. Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church. Jimmy was born March 30, 1937 in Hall Summit, LA and went to be with the Lord on August 5, 2019. Mr. Davis was a wonderful Christian man and a loving father, brother, and grandfather. He is loved, cherished, and will be greatly missed by many. Jimmy was preceded in death by his wife, Nola Faye Davis; parents, Olan and Ethel Davis; sister, Margie Fatheree; children, Terri Sue Davis, Joy Lynn Pilling, and Rick Charles Pilling; and grandsons, Ray Alton Goodrich III and Sebastian Pilling. Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Donald Hodge, Jimmy Ray Davis, Douglas Davis, and Nick Pilling; daughter, Deeanna Davis Standfield, Susan Connally, and Nina Goodrich; brother, Olan Davis, sisters, Faye Irvin, Evelyn Sepulvado, Debra Hardy; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Pallbearers will be James Pilling, Deven Maddox, Jimmy Ray Davis, Matthew Hodge, Cody Connally, and Corey Connally. Honorary pallbearer will be James Philyaw. The family would like to give a special thanks to the ICU and 3rd floor nursing staff at Willis-Knighton South.
