SHREVEPORT, LA - A Mass of Christian Burial for Joe Bill Davis, 87, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 7, 2017, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Shreveport, LA with Father Joe Martina officiating. Burial will follow in Centuries Memorial Park Cemetery, Shreveport, LA. The family will receive friends Thursday, July 6, 2017, from 5:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall St., Shreveport, LA.
Joe was born August 15, 1929, in Harmon, LA to Isabella Moore Davis and John Davis and passed away July 5, 2017, in Shreveport, LA. Joe was in the United States Marine Corp. After retiring he was a member of the Marine Corp League, VFW, DAV, and the American Legion. He was a member of the Chosin Few which are survivors of the battle of Chosin Resovior Korea.
Preceding Joe in death were his parents, and his son, Joseph Michael Davis; brothers, John O. Davis, Arthur Davis, and Tony Davis; sisters, Florence Rodrigues, Bessie Davis, and Velma Boswell. Left to cherish his memory is his loving and devoted wife of 64 years, Earline Harper Davis; sons, John R. Davis and wife, Lisa, and Paul Davis and wife Martha; grandchildren, Hadley Michael, Allyson Josie Davis; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Honoring Joe as pallbearers will be John Davis, Paul Davis, Hadley Davis, Charlie Davis, Jr., E. J. Boswell, A. L. Harper, N. L. Harper, Jay Davis, and Michael Davis. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Dennis Dumas, Robert Fuller, Robert Thomas and David Thomas.
