Johnnie Martin Nattin

Our mother, Johnnie Maurine Martin Nattin, was born November 6, 1913. On June 29, 2017, at the age of 103, she joined our daddy John Ruben Nattin, her parents Lilla Mae Walker and John Martin, three sisters, and her sons-in-law Buddy Juneau and Ben Naar in Heaven. Mama was so proud to have been born in Plain Dealing, La at the time she did. She spoke often of having seen so much in her 103 years. She shared her love for the Lord and all of his creations with family and friends, especially the beautiful flowers she grew, and she would frequently state that there is nothing more magnificent than white clouds in a beautiful blue sky. She spent hours telling the stories of her school years and friends in Plain Dealing and Benton. (She was honored to have been recognized a few years ago as the oldest living graduate of Benton High School.) She spent many years caring for her family and home, as well as having various jobs outside the home. She went to work in the billing department of the Bossier Water Department in 1957, where she retired in 1982. She loved to remember and share the many incredible vacations that she and Daddy took, as well as the fun travels she made to conventions with her ABWA friends. The words on this page cannot begin to express how much our family will miss our mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She loved us all unconditionally and perfectly. She often told us that no one could love a family more than she did. Four daughters and sons: Chloe Nattin Juneau (Buddy); Clotile Nattin Berlin (Jerry); Becky Nattin Naar (Ben); Candy Nattin Murphy (David). Ten Grandchildren: Colette Juneau McDonald (Mike); John Juneau (Lisa); Melissa Juneau Taylor; Michael Berlin (Kim); Clare Berlin Kerr (John); Leah Berlin Vela (Jason); Butch Naar (Stephanie); Elizabeth Naar Schroeder (Gary); Corey Wilson (Carrie); Clint Wilson (Brianne). She was blessed with 24 Great Grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She is greatly missed by her sister Dorothy Martin Lipscomb in Wichita Falls, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be her five grandsons. Visitation will be Sunday, July 2, from 5-7 pm. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Bossier City. Funeral services will also be there on Monday, July 3, at 11:00 am. Rev. Justin Haigler and Brother Buck Furlow will officiate. Burial will be at Hill Crest Cemetery. Our special thank you goes to our friends and hers who have loved our mama throughout her life and to Dr. Ted Warren, Dr. Royal Becker, to the wonderful staff at Pilgrim Manor who cared for her so well, and to our new friends and incredible caregivers at Aime Hospice Care. "Mom taught me that beauty is all around me ... and she is my favorite example."
