SHREVEPORT, LA - A Celebration of Life for Jonnie Richey Kline will be held Friday, November 27, 2020 in the Broadmoor Baptist Memorial Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Officiating will be Dr. Tom Harrison, beloved pastor, and friend. Jonnie went to be with her Lord early Sunday morning, November 1, 2020. She was born February 12, 1933 in Shreveport, LA to Ruth and Elmer Richey. She graduated from Fair Park High School and went on to a career with the Shreveport Times and later worked for American Airlines at Barksdale Air Force Base in the KC-10 Simulator office. Jonnie was a devoted member of Broadmoor Baptist Church for over 60 years. She sang in the church choir and led the Scripturesize Exercise group. She also was a member of the Shreveport Symphony Guild and the Shreveport Little Theatre Guild. She had a servant heart, and you could find her helping wherever she was needed. She loved her Lord, her family, friends, and her country. She enjoyed spending as much time as possible with loved ones at the family camp on Lake Bistineau. Jonnie is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 54 years, John William "Jack" Kline; son, Mark Gregory Kline; and sister, Betty Shedd Carpenter. Her daughter, Candy Kline O'Bannon of Shreveport and grandchildren, William James O'Bannon of Grand Junction, Colorado, and Bonnie Beth O'Bannon of Bentonville, Arkansas, survive her. Jonnie is also survived by her sister, LaJuan Duncan of Lewisville, Texas; "other" son, James B. O'Bannon Jr.; nieces; cousins; and many dear friends and loved ones. Serving her as honorary pallbearers are Nicky Wayne Daniel, Frank Junge, Robert Blackshire, George Brice, Blake Wiggins, Chris Harris and Michael French. In lieu of flowers, Jonnie requested memorials may be made to Broadmoor Baptist Church, 4110 Youree Dr, Shreveport, LA, 71105 or charity of your choice. The family would like to thank each one who sent cards, called, prayed, and supported them emotionally through this very difficult time.
