Shreveport, LA Joy Hill Funeral Mass for Joy Hill, 83, will be held Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church in Minden, Louisiana with Father Pike Thomas and Father Sebastian Kallarackal, C.M.I. officiating. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden, Louisiana. The family will receive friends from 9 until 10:30 a.m. Saturday preceding Mass. Joy entered into rest August 22, 2017 in Shreveport, Louisiana. She was born September 11, 1933 in Fenton, Louisiana to William and Eva Fontenot Deshotel. Graduating from Charity School of Nursing in New Orleans in 1954, Joy worked as an RN until she devoted her full time and attention to her five daughters. Joy was married to Dr. John B. Hill for 59 years where they lived in Minden until his death in 2014. Also preceding her in death were grandson, Ben King and sister, Kit Burton. Left to cherish her memories are her children, Kathy (Paul) King of Shreveport, Pam (Gary) Brewer of Glenwood Springs, CO, Jerene (Jimmy) Cross of Bentonville, AR, Margaret Anne (Richard) LeJeune of Centennial, CO, and Rachel Rhodes (Ronnie) of Mandeville, LA, as well as 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, her siblings, Vearn Scroggins (Johnny) of Benton, AR and Glenn (Jo) Deshotel of Wichita Falls, TX and many extended family members and friends. Special thanks to the caring staff of Montclair Park Assisted Living who made her last years comfortable. Pallbearers will be Paul King, Gary Brewer, Richard LeJeune, Ronnie Rhodes, Jimmy Cross, and Dr. Max Stell. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul Catholic Church, P.O.
