Joyce Marie Evans Gatlin

Funeral services for Joyce Marie Evans Gatlin will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 7, 2020 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall St., Shreveport, Louisiana. A burial will follow at Carver Cemetery, 498 Kennie Rd., Shreveport, Louisiana. A visitation will be held on Friday, November 6, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Officiating the service will be Pastor Elbert Brown. Joyce was welcomed to life on August 25, 1961 to Mary Ethel Evans and Reuben Bell. Joyce professed her faith and accepted CHRIST at a young age at St. David Baptist Church and later united with BIC Ministries under the leadership of Pastor Elbert Brown. Joyce graduated from Woodlawn High School in 1979. She was united in Holy Matrimony to Cedric Gatlin on April 8, 2000 until her Heavenly gain. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Ethel Evans and father, Reuben Bell, grandmother, Ethel Lee Ware, sisters, Carolyn Evans and Latonya Boone, brother, Rufus Boone and aunt, Carolyn Grant. Her memories will be loving and cherished by her husband, Cedric Gatlin; daughter and three sons, Natoya Evans, Tyrone Evans, James Evans, and Lakendrick Evans and wife, Terina Evans; step-son, Cedric Deon Gatlin; godson, Dreike Bouldin and wife, Latisha; two brothers, Artis Evans and wife, Tina and Reuben Bell Jr.; two sisters, Pamela Bell and Sharon Stevenson and husband Wilford; a special brother, Allan Thomas and wife, Vundia; two granddaughters, Lakarrea Smith and Alaysia Henderson Evans; two grandsons, De\'Jayvion Williams and Marcaelin Carraway; two great-grandchildren, Bailey Smith and Kayden Puryear; two maternal aunts, Curley Smoot Smith and husband, Charles and Betty Jackson; two maternal uncles, Alvin Ware and Melvin Ware and wife, Winnie; mother-in-law, Geraldine Gatlin and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Honoring Joyce as pallbearers will be Leroy Evans, Lemonzo Ware, Jamarcus Brown, Melvin E. Ware, Sean Loston II, D'Javious Evans and JaVontae Evans. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Antonio Evans, Rickey Evans, DeMarcus Bell, Renaldo Evans, Jajuan Evans and Robrick Evans.
