BOSSIER CITY, LA: Funeral services were held for Mrs. Juanita Thomas Dean, 88, in the Chapel of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Homer on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Tommy Davidson, officiating. Interment followed in Tulip Cemetery, near Athens. The family received friends at the funeral home on Friday from 5-7 p.m.
Mrs. Dean was born March 30, 1927 in Dubach, LA to Jesse J. and Vera Pennington Thomas. She entered into rest on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 in Bossier City.
Mrs. Dean was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kerlin C. Dean; and 2 brothers, Oliver C. Thomas and James Robert Thomas.
She is survived by a daughter, Patricia D. Phillips of Bossier City; a son, Danny L. Dean and wife Brenda of Haughton; a brother, Curtis L Thomas of Keithville; 8 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and a great, great grandson; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Neal Reese, Skylor Reese, Caleb Reese, Brad Dean, Jeff Wright and Michael Thomas.
In lieu of flowers honoring Mrs. Dean, her family suggests memorials be to the Hurricane Methodist Church.
