Judy Murphy

BOSSIER CITY, LA - Judy Pitts Murphy, 67, passed away on January 16, 2018. She was born in Bessemer, Alabama to Perry Allen Pitts and Frances Wade Pitts on March 16, 1950. Judy graduated from Bossier High School in 1968. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, spending time with her family and taking care of her beloved dog, Rocky. Cooking was one of Judy's passions and she would always send you home with something like her delicious chicken and dumplings. She would cook enough to feed you, your family and the people next door too! Many times, Judy would have three complete meals cooking at the same time! If you walked in hungry, you sure didn't leave that way. The flowerbeds in heaven will have a new green thumb to help care for them as Judy truly knew how to make hers flourish. Just remember every spring, when you see new blooms and beautiful flowers, its Judy's way of sending us a reminder of her love. She also had an affection for all animals and a keen eye for decorating which are traits shared by both her daughters. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Bossier City on Wednesday, January 24, 2018. A memorial service for Judy will be at 10:00 a.m. in the Rose-Neath Chapel with Bryan Reed officiating. Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Perry "Papaw" Pitts and Frances "Memaw" Pitts. She was also preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Johnny and Ethel Wade; and her paternal grandparents, James and Ellen Pitts. She is survived by her daughters, Melissa Bolton of Shreveport, LA and Ashley Hebert and husband Michael of Lafayette, LA; her sister Linda Bundrick and partner David Loudermilk; her niece Angela Skillingstad and husband Monty; grandsons Brandon and Blake Bolton and Ashton Hebert; great nephews Cameron Davis and wife Haley, Cole Davis and partner Devin Barnes and their father Scott Davis; great-great nieces and nephews Kynsie Davis, Carter Davis, Camp Davis, and Avery Davis; her aunt Ruby Coleman and husband John, her uncle Ralph Wade and wife Virginia; partner Larry Hawkins; and dear friend Chuck Bolton. We know Judy will still be keeping an eye on her LSU Tigers and cheering on the Purple and Gold every time they play!!! She will be greatly missed by her family and friends, but her memories will be cherished forever.
