Kerry Mitchel Newman

A Celebration of Life for Kerry Mitchel Newman, 58, will be held on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Broadmoor Baptist Church Memorial Chapel, 4110 Youree Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Hilltop Worship Cemetery in Chatham, Louisiana at 3:30 p.m. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Broadmoor Baptist Church on the North Lawn before the service. Officiating will be Reverend Jeff Teague, Dr. Larry Williams and Reverend Jimmy Fletcher. Kerry was born on December 19, 1961, to James and Martha Newman in Houston, Texas. He passed from this life on Saturday, October 17, 2020. He left us suddenly and much too soon. Kerry will be remembered for his big heart, quick wit, naps, hearty laugh and big hugs. Kerry was preceded in death by his father, James Newman. Kerry is survived by his wife, Debra McManus Newman; two sons, Lawrence Franklin and Sidney Creamer; grandchildren, Madison and Jaxson; mother, Martha Newman; one brother, Keith Newman and two sisters, Leigh Ann Weaver and husband, John and Amy Yates and husband, Mike. Kerry was employed by Nix Forest Industries, Timpson, Texas where he enjoyed working with Milt and Terrie Nix and family. Honoring Kerry as pallbearers will be his friends. The family suggests memorials may be made to Shriner's Hospital for Children, 3100 Samford Avenue, Shreveport, Louisiana, 71103 or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tennessee, 38105. Kerry was loved by many and will be missed by all.
