Visitation with the family will be held at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel, Monday, September 28, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. LaJuan was born September 26, 1937 in Maud, Texas to parents, John Dee and Ona Lois McDougal and passed away peacefully September 25, 2020 in Shreveport, Louisiana. LaJuan graduated from business school and worked for many years helping her husband, Jim Lewis, at Lewis Auto Parts. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother who loved to make quilts and chicken and dumplings for her grandkids. She absolutely loved spoiling her grandchildren with cooking their favorite treats or buying them name brand clothes and shoes. She had a passion for bird watching and reading her Bible. A devout Christian who loved to serve the Lord, LaJuan and Jim started many Sunday School classes at Brookwood Baptist Church throughout the years, including the first singles Sunday School class. When not teaching Sunday School you could find LaJuan on the church flower committee, being involved with the deacon widow banquet or bringing food to bereaved families. She will be missed by al who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, James Madison Lewis. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Rebecca Kay Davis and husband, Ronnie; granddaughter, Kylie Caprice Davis; grandson, Tristan James Orion Davis, all of Shreveport, LA and a very special cousin, Cecil Jean Liles of Maud, TX. Honoring LaJuan as pallbearers will be Michael Applebaum, Dustin Martin, Corey Davis, Tristin Davis, John "Ace" Davidson and Brody Duke. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Ronnie Davis. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials honoring LeJuan Lewis may be made to Samaritan's Purse/ Donor Ministries, PO Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607 or to Brookwood Baptist Church, 9014 Brookwood Church Way, Shreveport, LA 71106.
