David Leroy (PawPaw) Tinsley Haynesville, LA: Leroy Tinsley passed away on January 28, 2015 in the Homer Memorial Hospital. Leroy was born on September 17, 1927 to Roy Clyde Tinsley and Myra Beavers Tinsley Rainey in the Camp Community near Homer, LA. Leroy is survived by his wife of 68 years, Olarene Milam Tinsley; two daughters, Betsy Burcham of Homer, LA, and Marilyn Baskin of Shreveport, LA; a son David L. Tinsley II (Anne) of Perry LA; three sisters, Brenda Rainey of Homer, LA, Billy Joyce Teague (Ronnie) of West Monroe, LA and Judy Bolt (Jack) of Humble, TX; a sister-in-law, Laura Tinsley of Homer, LA: son-in-law, Louis Holman of Homer,LA; seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, along with step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. Leroy was preceded in death by two brothers, Percy Tinsley and Drew Tinsley (Connie); three sisters, Mona Faye Walker Holman (Durwood), Camilla Ruth Bauldree (Travis) and Royce Rainey; son-in-laws, Jesse Lee Baskin Jr., and Charlie Burcham; and grandson Eric Beavers. Leroy was raised on a farm to a hard-working and large loving family. Many values were instilled in him as a child which he carried throughout his life. Leroy worked in the oil field his entire working career. Dad started his oilfield career in 1945 for Penrod Drilling Company and achieved up to the position of Assistant General Manager in Dallas, TX. Leroy then worked for H&P Drilling Company until his retirement in 1987 as a Drilling Manager in Tulsa, OK. Dad's dreams put into action, mentored many young and fine hands in the oilfield who credit him for their success. Dad always had the end result in mind. His end result was to retire to the farm, raising cows and crops, on the same land that he plowed with a mule as a boy and a young man. Leroy was a 32nd degree Mason and a Shriner. He was baptized in Ruple Baptist Church where he was a deacon, and loved taking part in vacation bible school where he was known by many as "Pawpaw the Snowcone Man," a title he cherished. Pallbearers were Edwin Sepulvado, Steven Harner, Beau Tinsley, JT Allen, Phillip Sims, Derek Johnston, Justin Woodall and Poley Guinn. Honorary pallbearers were Chase Harner, Garrett Sepulvado and Coleman Sepulvado A visitation was held at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Homer on Friday, January 30 from 5-7 PM. Funeral was held at Ruple Baptist Church on Saturday, January 31 at 10:00 AM with graveside services at Old Town Cemetery in Haynesville, LA, immediately afterwards. In lieu of flowers please donate to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Shriners\' Hospital.
