Lonnie Gordon
HOMER, LA: A memorial service will be held for Lonnie Gordon, 98, at the Calvary Baptist Church in Homer, LA, on Saturday, December 27, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. William Colvin, officiating.
Mr. Gordon was born November 6, 1916, to Louis Bennett and Lena Hannah Hebert Gordon in Hebert, LA. He entered into rest Saturday, December 20 in Claiborne Manor following a lengthy illness. The family name of "Gordon" name was originally spelled with a "t" and later changed by Louis his father to be spelled with a "d" and he was one of 11 children. Mr. Gordon was self-employed as a house painter. He was a member of the CCC and affiliation was Calvary Baptist Church.
Mr. Gordon is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sarah Genettie Acklew Gordon; and a son, Kenneth Lee Gordon.
He is survived by a son; Johnny Gordon of Baton Rouge, LA; three grandchildren, Aimee Fairbanks, Greg Gordon and Brad Gordon; eight great grandchildren, Cody Gordon, Casey Cordon, Colton Gordon, Lane Gordon, Mary Clare Gordon, Ashlynn McCormick, Sarah McCormick and Grant Fairbanks.
Honorary pallbearer will be Keith Owens, Randy Broughton, Gary Hunter, Wayne Perry, Danny Goodson and Johnny Goodson.
