Ray was born on November 29,1962 in Brownwood, TX to Louis Ray Ketchum, Sr. and Peradine Elizabeth Ogle Ketchum, and passed away Thursday, April 1, 2021 in Shreveport, LA. Ray was the owner of Ashley\'s Restaurant, and also managed at Pancho's and Posados. He was a former Shriners clown by the name of Rainbow Jr. He was a member of First Church of the Nazarene for 35 years. He loved God and his family. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid collector of Coca-Cola Memorabilia. His hobby was hunting for old bottles and learning the history of each one of them. Ray loved crafts and drawing, and shared his creations with everyone. He never met a stranger and loved being around people. He was a friend to all. His family was his greatest joy. He cherished spending time with his grandchildren and helped nurture their imagination. To know Ray was to know love and friendship. He was always calling to check in with his friends and family. Wherever he went he greeted people with a smile. And his bear hugs comforted you no matter the situation. In John 13:34, Jesus says " A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another." This is how Ray lived his life. He showed love to the people around him; not just family and friends but everywhere he went. He led a life filled with love and faith. Ray is preceded in death by his parents Louis and Elizabeth Ketchum. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Sandra Lee Ketchum; daughter, Candace Impson and husband, Jeff; son, Louis Ray Ketchum III; and grandchildren, Victoria Impson and Dylan Impson. Honoring Ray as pallbearers will be John Counts, Kyle Counts, Roy Giddens, Darrell Giddens, Steve Huber, Matt Impson, and Donald Ray Schellinger In lieu of flowers, the family suggests any memorials in Ray's honor go to The Gingerbread House: 1700 Buckner Square Suite 101, Shreveport, LA, 71101. https://www.gingerbreadhousecac.org/donate.html We would like to thank all the doctors and nurses at Ochsner/LSU for the great care they provided. We appreciate everything they did to help Ray.
