Lucy Martell Chandler
Funeral services will be held for Lucy Martell Holley Chandler, age 76, at 10:00 a.m., on Friday, January 9, 2015, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Arcadia. Bro. Don Woodard and Bro. Bruce Knight will officiate. The interment will follow at Hurricane Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday night from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m.
Mrs. Chandler was born December 11, 1938, in Arcadia to Boyce and Velma Henry Holley. She entered into rest on January 6, 2015, with her loving family by her side. Mrs. Martell was a faithful member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. She worked as a secretary with the Louisiana Army Ammunition Plant.
She is preceded in death by her parents Boyce and Vela Holley and granddaughter Rachel Pye.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Ralph Chandler, daughter Cindy C. Pye and husband Roy, son Joey Chandler and wife Lisa Gantt Chandler, grandchildren Jonathan Pye, Elizabeth Pye, Wesley Chandler and Brandy Robertson, sister Barbara Stevenson, 4 great grandchildren and by many other nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Roy Pye, Jonathan Pye, Wesley Chandler and Bill Bolton.
