A celebration of Luther Lee Kincade’s life will be held Friday, October 24, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. in the Noel Memorial UMC Chapel with a reception to follow.  Born in Fort Worth in May 1927 and raised in Midland until age 15, “Buddy” graduated from Byrd High and Centenary College, served in the US Navy in WWII, and remained a Texan by birth and sprit to the end.
Lee was a geologist by profession, a former president of the Shreveport Geological Society, an AAPG member, and former Petroleum Club board member.  He was also a former member of Eastridge and former president of the Boots & Saddle Riding Club.  Hunting and the outdoors were his passion, teaching both his son and daughter to hunt deer and turkey.
He served St. Luke’s UMC & Noel Memorial UMC in many roles and was a past president and song leader of the Noel Men’s Bible Class. As a son he honored his parents, especially in their advanced ages, as a husband he loved his wife, as a dad he took his children to church, as a granddad he encouraged and as a friend he remained true.
Lee is survived by his wife of 64 years, Bobbie Smith Kincade, daughter Lee Ann Kincade Horn and husband Walter of Richardson TX, son John Kincade and wife Leslie of Dallas, grandchildren Marci and Matthew Horn and Sean and Lucas Kincade, and sister-in-law, Dixie Keeley. He was also a favorite and beloved uncle.
Preceded by his first horse, Mae West, which he rode at age 5 in the Midland Rodeo parade, and by his last dog, Rowdy, who accompanied him on many Texas Hill County hunting trips.
Honorary pallbearers – Claude Franklin, John Willis, Joe Laird, John Davis and the Noel Men’s Bible Class.
The family thanks Dr. Dan Moller and staff and Dr. Flenikan, Louise Wiggins, and the nurses and aids of Wing 4 NWLA War Veterans Home.
