Our sweet Granny has gone to live with Jesus in Her Mansion just over the hill top. Granny gained her wings on October 6, 2018, at 90 years old.

Her Home going Celebration will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 11, 2018, at The Blanchard Church of The Nazarene, Blanchard, LA. Officiating will be Pastors Delbert Terry and Alton Ashby, Jr. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 10, 2018, at the church. Burial will be at The Old Blanchard Cemetery, Blanchard, LA.

Preceding her in death are her husband Paul Bertrand, son Thomas Bertrand; granddaughter Jennifer Harris; her parents Rev. and Mrs. A. D. Ashby; seven brothers and four sisters. Left to cherish her memory are her children Gayle and Billy Boles, Sheryl and Tim Harris, Gary Paul and Karla Bertrand; her pride and joy are her 14 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; brother David Ashby, Sr.; also left to cherish her memories are several nieces, nephews, church family and friends.

Granny was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, who consistently did her best to take care of her family and the people around her. She was an avid reader and enjoyed singing and listening to music, Granny played the piano, sang in the choir when she was needed.

No one could cook rice and gravy for Sunday lunch better than her. Christmas Eve gumbo was also a favorite of ours. Of the things we miss most about her will be her beautiful smile and the twinkle in her eyes.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations may be made in her honor to The Blanchard Nazarene Church Building Fund, P. O. Box 450, Blanchard, LA 71009.

The family would like to express special thanks for the care that was given to her by the staff of Amedisys Hospice.

Our Prayer Warrior ran the race, fought the fight and finished in the arms of Jesus.
