Funeral services for Mable Kelly Reed, 104, will be held on Friday, June 25, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Centuries Memorial Park Cemetery, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport. A visitation will be held Thursday, June 24, 2021 at Rose-Neath Southside from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Officiating the service will be Brother Jeff Lines. Mable passed away peacefully June 20, 2021 surrounded by her family. She was born on April 25, 1917 in Nacogdoches, Texas to Sam Houston King and Ora Mae Fletcher King. Mable was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church since 1952. She was an avid reader and gardener. She was famous for her cooking and especially her fried chicken. She was a mother and grandmother to every child in the neighborhood. She was a wonderful mother and mamaw and will be greatly missed by many. Mable is preceded in death by her parents and brothers and sister; her husband, Joe Reed and her sons, Butch and David Reed. She is survived by her daughters, Shirley Cory, Judy Reed, Linda Fielder and husband, Johnny, Mary Herzog and husband, Larry, and Brenda Reed; 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. The family would like to express special thanks to Willis-Knighton Hospice and her Hospice nurse and niece, Evelyn Anderson and Dr. Huan Le for their care and compassion given to Mable. Honoring Mable as pallbearers will be her grandsons, Rodney Cory, Kevin Reed, Dalton Meshell, Kyle Cory, Justin Horton, Austin McGinty, Jett Smallwood, Colton Horton and Dayton Reed.
