Margaret Glenn

Margaret Hitchcock Glenn, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away on December 7, 2016, surrounded by her family. Margaret was a spiritual director for many residents of Northern Louisiana for more than 40 years. In the early 1970s she helped found a group of spiritual seekers called the Tuesday Group which still meets today. She was a wisdom student and a wisdom teacher, sharing the Enneagram and Jungian psychological concepts with her fellow seekers, along with Father Murray Clayton and Mickie Cowan; as a Jungian dream analyst, she also taught the wisdom of dreams and led numerous dream groups. Margaret had a very eclectic list of passions throughout her life: horseback riding, achieving a brown belt in judo, serving as the secretary of the Southwest Theater Conference, and especially acting in both commercial radio and little theater productions. When her husband Bill was in medical school in Galveston, Texas, she worked as an Audiometrist at John Sealy Hospital. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and lleta Hitchcock. Her survivors include her husband of 73 years, William A. Glenn, M.D.; four children: Leigh Crump and husband, Harold, Beth Price and husband, Ken, Clare Coburn and husband, Jeff and Jay Glenn and wife, Mary; nine grandchildren: Drew Gilmer, Paige Castaneda, Barrett Ingram, Walker Coburn, Leigh Flood, Mary Pettiette, Clare Glenn, Logan Glenn, and Katie Glenn; and 11 great-grandchildren: Salvador Castaneda, Abi Castaneda, Ava Ingram, Emma Ingram, Daylin Ingram, William Coburn, Thomas Coburn, Lily Clare Flood and soon-to-be expected sibling, Howell Pettiette and Liam Glenn; and brother, Layden Hitchcock and wife, Gloria. The family wishes to thank all of Margaret\'s many gracious and compassionate caregivers from Lifepath Hospice, Montclair Park, Resource Louisiana, Christus Highland Hospital and the rehab wing of The Glen. We would especially like to thank a nurse named Karen who made a blanket for her that never left her bed. She called it her \"Karen blanket.\" A vigil and rosary service will be held at Rose-Neath funeral home on Marshall Street on Monday evening December 12, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday morning December 13, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph\'s Catholic Church on Patton Street, followed by a brief interment service at Forest Park Cemetery on St. Vincent Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations to Catholic Charities of North Louisiana located at 331 E. 71st Street in Shreveport would be gratefully appreciated.
