SHREVEPORT, LA - Funeral services for Marguerite Bozeman Cherry, 84, will be held at 4:00 p.m. Friday, October 17, 2014 at Rose-Neath Marshall St. Chapel, 1815 Marshall St., Shreveport, LA. Officiating will be Dr. Pat Day. Interment will follow at Forest Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, October 16, 2014 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Marguerite Cherry was born September 5, 1930 in Shreveport, LA and passed away on October 15, 2014. She was a graduate of Northwestern State University and a long time educator for the Louisiana Technical Colleges at the Lake Charles, New Iberia and Shreveport-Bossier locations. She retired after 41 years of service from the Shreveport-Bossier Campus as the assistant administrator. She was also a faithful member of First United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Marguerite Bozeman; daughter, Margaret Jane Cherry. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, William Jeffrey Cherry; James Hardy Cherry and wife, Lisa; grandchildren, Kathryn Renee Cherry; Julia Kay Cherry; sister, Billie Vic Van Hoose and husband, Gordon; and niece, Marguerite West and husband Vik Bhide. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister and will be missed by all who knew and loved her. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 1567, Shreveport, LA 71165 or to donor's choice.
