Mrs. Gilligan went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 25, 2020 in Shreveport, Louisiana. She was born October 28, 1929 to Myrtle and Milton Ridings.
Mrs. Gilligan was a very talented seamstress; she would make blankets for the patients at the Shriners Children's Hospital and beautiful baby blankets for anyone she knew was having a baby. Marie and her very good friend Carol Prusey enjoyed being a part of "Shoe Box Ministries" where they would put together boxes for under privileged children oversees. She loved gardening, flowers and was a very imaginative cook. Marie was always proud of her "pork and bean cake" or her "sauerkraut cake" you never knew what creative dish she was going to come up with next! Above everything else her greatest joy was her family and being their "mamaw".
Mrs. Gillian was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Gilligan; daughter, Janice Pinchera; and her parents. She is survived by her daughter, Carla Bethea, and husband Mark; sons, John Harris, and wife Suzy and Kip Gilligan; eight grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great grandchildren.
Honoring Mrs. Gilligan as pallbearers will be Mark Bethea, Julian Lowery, Jr., Kolby Johnson, John Harris, Jr., Michael Minamyer and Caleb Green.
