SHREVEPORT, LA - Services for Marinell Land McMichael, 80, will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, November 12, 2016 at St. Matthias Episcopal, Shreveport, LA. Officiating will be Bishop Jake Owensby and Deacon Kay Hunter. Interment will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery, St. Vincent Avenue, Shreveport, LA. The family will receive friends and family from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall Street, Shreveport, LA . Marinell was born on November 14, 1935 in Atlanta, TX to Reatha Yates and Charles Houston Land and passed away on November 8, 2016 in Shreveport, LA. Marinell was a light unto the world. A true Christian lady who showed love to all she met. She viewed her greatest calling as a wife to her beloved Ralph. Marinell was a loving and nurturing mother and granny. The light she leaves behind will continue to burn bright in all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Rev. Ralph N. McMichael. Leaving to cherish Marinell's memory are her sons, Rev. Ralph N. McMichael, Jr. and wife Jan, Charles E. McMichael and wife Belinda; grandchildren, Nelson McMichael, Anne Marie McMichael, Breck McMichael and Alex and their son, Khai McMichael, and Evan McMichael; sister, Nell Land; brother, Michael Land and wife Vicki; also many nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the loving staff at The Glen. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to St. Matthias Episcopal, 3301 St. Matthias Dr., Shreveport, LA 71119.
