Mario Brontoli

Mario Brontoli was born on July 4, 1923 in New York City. He graduated from Aviation Trade School and enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He served his country as an airplane mechanic during WWII on Okinawa. Upon returning home he met the love of his life Elda and they were married in New York City on October 29, 1950. He pursued his dream of flying and received his pilot license. His skills as a pilot and mechanic served him well over his lifetime. His career took him around the world flying for oil companies overseas and stateside. He worked for Standard Oil in Indonesia; Allied Stores in White Plains, NY; Sinclair Oil in Somalia and Mobil Oil in Libya. He retired in Ormond Beach, FL and recently moved to Bossier City, LA. He had opportunities and experiences many just dream of. Mario was an amateur boxer who loved the sport. He enjoyed a round of golf, a good tennis match and most of all "playing" the stock market. Mario was preceded in death by his father Frank, mother Veronica, sister Vilma and brother Johnny. He is survived by his wife of 68 years Elda; son Richard and wife Silvia of Bossier City, LA; son Jeffrey and wife Jean of St. Louis, MO and son James and wife Rene of Boise, ID. Mario has 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. The family will have a visitation on 12 May 2019 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Bossier. There will be a private family graveside service on 13 May 2019 at the Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Keithville, LA. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Foundation.
