Marion Palmer

HAUGHTON, LA - Our Mum, Marion Crook Palmer, passed away September 5, 2018 from a massive heart attack. We are in shock and completely stunned. A memorial service to celebrate Mum's life will be held at First Christian Church on Shed Road in Bossier City at 10 a.m. Monday September 10, 2018. Officiating will be Rev. Barbara Driscoll. A reception will immediately follow the service. Marion was born August 20, 1941 in Hillingdon, Middlesex, England to James Albert Fredrick "Mick" Crook and Beatrice Vernon "Beaty" Sibley. Marion was a legal secretary and retired from Pugh, Pugh and Pugh Law Firm. She was a member of First Christian Church in Bossier City. Mum was a beautifully caring person. She taught us to be kind, nonjudgmental, and to care for others no matter their status in life. Everyone that met her described her as the sweetest person. That, she was. She was preceded in death by her son, Mark Anthony Palmer and parents, "Mick" and "Beaty" Crook. Marion is survived by her husband, Anthony "Tony" Eric Palmer; daughters, Andrea Peterson and husband, Barry, Beverley Coleman and husband, Kyle; step-granddaughter, Claire Coleman; younger brothers, Robert James Cook, Brian Crook and sister-in-law, Angie Stewman and family. She is also survived by her dearest friends, Joanne Fowler and family, the ladies of her British Wives group, "T.B.P.A.", her church family, her former coworkers from Pugh, Pugh and Pugh Law Firm, Jean Pugh Cottingham, Bobby Pugh and Lamar Pugh, and her beloved fur babies, dog, Honey, cat, Mrs. Kitty and her grand doggies. She was the first to offer assistance to anyone in need. If she were able, she did it. We pray that those who were blessed to know her were able to see what goodness looked like and maybe try to be a little like her. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt and friend. How blessed we are to have known her. Being typically English, she would say "have a cup of tea, it will make you feel better". We're not sure that will work in this case, but we will always feel her warmth with a "good cuppa" from here on out. Please pray for our Dad as he faces the world without the love of his life of more than 50 years. Please pray for our family and friends in the U.S. and Great Britain. God will carry us all through this. The family suggests memorials may be made to First Christian Church, 2205 Shed Rd., Bossier City, LA 71111.
