Marjorie Eubank Davis peacefully passed away in Shreveport, LA at the age of 87 on January 14, 2021. Marjorie was born on April 28, 1933 to John Thomas and Ada White Eubank in Port Arthur, TX. At a young age the family moved to Shreveport, LA which became her longtime home. After graduating from C. E. Byrd High School in 1951, she studied education at Centenary College of Louisiana where she graduated magna cum laude and was a Maroon Jacket and President of Zeta Tau Alpha. She completed her Master\'s in Education through Northwestern State University and spent over 40 years teaching in Caddo Parish Public Schools. During her career, she was named Louisiana Outstanding Educator of the Year in 1966. In her retirement, Marjorie enjoyed time with her friends and family through Noel\'s United Methodist Women and was a past President of the Woman\'s Department Club. She loved playing bridge, traveling, and collecting nativities.
Marjorie is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard William Davis and two grandchildren, Nathaniel James Davis and Matthew Hearne Davis. Her memory is cherished by her brother, John Thomas Eubank and wife, Nancy; sister, Marcia Eubank Wilson; her four loving children, Gregg Almand and wife, Tammy, Diane Davis Broadwell and the late, John Broadwell, Jim Davis and Amanda Davis, and Mark Davis. She will be treasured as \"Gran\" to grandchildren, Chris, Heather, Stephanie, Wesley, Ashley, Amanda-Marie, Kayla, Lyla, Connor, Hunter and great-grandchildren, Hattie, Essie, Tripp and Erin. Marjorie will be missed dearly by sister-in-law, Carolyn Davis and close family friend, Lillie Roberts.
The family would like to give special thanks to the devoted caregivers at The Chateaus at Montclair and Willis-Knighton Pierremont, especially Willie Mae Jones.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at Forest Park Cemetery, St. Vincent with Reverend Mimi McDowell officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, prior to the service at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall Street, Shreveport, Louisiana.
