A private graveside service for Mary Edith Wallace was held on Monday, May 21, 2018 at Hill Crest Memorial Park. Mary was born June 19, 1936 in Grant Parish, LA and passed away May 19, 2018 in Bossier City, LA. She was a resident of Bossier City for 65 years and a member of Greenacres Missionary Baptist Church, Eastern Star and Daughters of the Nile. She was very active in church and school functions when her children were young. She also established a Neighborhood Watch. Faith and family were her life's work. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 46 years, J.T. "Tommy" Wallace, Sr.; mother and father, Gladys and John Lewis and brother and sisters, Aaron Lewis, Ruth Rachal and Eloise Childress. Mary is survived by daughters, Cynthia Rickert and husband, Curtis, Susan Warren and husband, Daren; son, J.T. Wallace, Jr. and wife, Jean; grandchildren, Greg, Steven, Jon, Josh, Jessica, Nicholas, Katherine and Joe and their spouses; eight great grandchildren; sister, Judie Williams; brother, Arlis Lewis, and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Dr. Daniel Moller, Dr. David Green, Dr. Robert Nickelson and Dr. Don Gibbons for the care she received at Willis-Knighton Health System and at MD Anderson Cancer Center. The family suggests memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to MD Anderson Cancer Center.
