Funeral services for Mary Tatum Lyles, 95, will be held on Monday, March 1, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Forest Park West, 4000 Meriwether Road, Shreveport. A visitation will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. prior to the funeral service at Rose-Neath. Officiating the service will be Pastor Dennis Sims. Mary was born November 22, 1925 to Hosie Michael and Clara L. Tatum in El Dorado, Arkansas and passed away on February 23, 2021 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Mary was a homemaker and loved to work in her yard and enjoy her beautiful flowers. She also loved feeding the birds at her feeders. One of her simple pleasures in life was reading her newspaper and drinking her morning coffee. Mary is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Murriel E. Lyles, Sr.; and brother, Hosie Michael Tatum, Jr. Left to cherish her memory is her brother, Jimmie Hays Tatum; sons, Murriel E. Lyles, Jr. and Michael T. Lyles and wife, Dianne C. Lyles; daughter, Mary Susan Lyles; grandchildren, Lisa Ann Lyles, Cathey Fessler, Michael David Lyles, Mark Lyles, Marybeth Lyles Kemp, Leah Trisler, Katie Trisler, several great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Honoring Mary as pallbearers will be Ricky Head, Mark Lyles, Randy Hollowell, Donald Hopkins, Wayne Moore and Tom Baker. The family would like to express special thanks to Heritage Manor Stratmore for their excellent care, support and compassion shown to Mary. The family suggests memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
