Funeral services were held for Maurice E. Martin, 74, at the Chapel of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Homer on Saturday, May 10, at 2pm. Interment  followed at the Homer Arlington Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, May 9 from 5-7pm.

Mr. Marty was born September 9, 1939 to Harold W. & Aurel Marie (Thode) Martin. He entered into rest, May 6, 2014, in Ruston, Louisiana following a lengthy illness. Mr. Marty served in the US Air Force as a Security Policeman, from 1958-1978, including tours in the Vietnam War. After retiring, he continued to work in the security field as a civilian. He was a loving father and husband. He enjoyed fishing, and was a talented craftsman, artist, and an excellent marksman. He married, Judy Odle, in 1961, they had four children. He married Joan _ in _and gained 3 more sons.

Mr. Marty was preceded in death by his father Harold Martin and mother, Aurel Marie Delong and stepfather, Jack Delong.

He is survived by his wife, Joan, daughter, Tracy (Rick) Belzer, Minot, ND, Sons, Keith Martin-Siau, Minot, ND, Michael Martin, Vernon, FL, David (Carla) Martin-Siau, Chipley, FL, Robert Keith,10 grandchildren, and 7 great grandcildren.

For friends considering memorials to honor his memory, his family suggests the Wounded Warrior Fund, American Diabetic Association, and the Veterans Foreign Wars.
