Funeral services for Maybelle Rivers Roscoe will be held Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. A visitation will be held at 11:30 a.m. until time of service. Burial will immediately follow at Forest Park Cemetery, Meriwether Road. Maybelle, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2020, after a very hard fought battle with pulmonary fibrosis. Maybelle leaves behind her children, William N. Roscoe and his wife, Pattie and Tammy Roscoe Rhodes and her fiancé, Steven Hunt; her grandchildren, Kenney Chappell, Thomas Chappell and Amy Roscoe; five great-grandchildren; many cousins, dear friends, and her beloved furbaby, Mila. Maybelle was born February 20, 1932 in Wood Lake, Texas to Willie and Martha Rivers; she graduated Zwolle High School and went on to graduate from Elliot's Business College. Her many hobbies included reading, flower gardening, dancing and oil painting. All of her working career was spent in business administration. A little over 20 years was spent working for the United Methodist Church, and we are honored to have Rev. John Korlaske, Rev. Beth TuUta, and Retired Rev. Chris Wilbur, who will be officiating along with Father Mike Thang'wa of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Honoring Maybelle as pallbearers will be Thomas Chappell, Kerston Blake, Josh Chambers, Vincent Ebarb, Roger Varnell and Patrick McNamara. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be William Roscoe and Shannon Dumas. The family would like to express thanks to all her friends throughout her walk of life.
