Mike Manard

A memorial service for Mike Manard will be held on Monday, January 6, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall St., Shreveport, Louisiana. Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. until service time. Officiating the service will be Bill Franks. Mike was born on August 16, 1951 in Sulphur, Louisiana to Richard Walter and Mable Lee Manard and passed away on Wednesday, December 25, 2019 in Shreveport, Louisiana. In high school, Mike learned to fly a crop duster aircraft for his grandfather's farm and was a popular radio DJ who went by the name, Shad O'Shea. After high school, he worked in television and acted in commercials. Later, he was both a policeman in Sulphur and a deputy sheriff with Calcasieu Parish. He also sold cars for a brief time and was a small business owner before accepting a job in television advertising sales in the early 80's - a field he stayed in until his passing. Mike had passion for many things, he loved to cook and graduated from culinary school. He loved going to the beach and to surf. He enjoyed staying physically fit and working out, and he loved the LSU Tigers. Mike was blessed with the "gift of gab" and he could sell anyone anything which helped him succeed in his career at KTBS Channel 3. Mike was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Mary Lee Manard. He is survived by his children, Bryan Manard and Brigette Bizette; grandchildren, Aunjelle, Brendan, Chelsea, and Emily and a sister, Vicky Alexander.
