Mike Parker

Stonewall, LA - A memorial service for Mike Parker, age 48, will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. at Riverpark Church. A visitation will be held at 2:00 p.m. until the time of service. Officiating will be Dennis Aaron of Open Range Fellowship and Mark Briggs Senior Pastor of Riverpark Church. Mike went to be with the Lord Monday, May 25, 2020 as a result of an unexpected illness. Mike was a man who was loved and respected by many. He was a man of great integrity, fierce loyalty and a work ethic like no one else. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved to snow ski with his children, and in the last decade fulfilled a lifelong dream of becoming a dirt track racer. But most of all Mike was a devoted, loving and caring family man. Since becoming a father in 1993 he took all those passions and shared them with his four children. To say he will be missed does not describe how his friends and family are left feeling at this time. The mold was broken when Mike was born, there are few if any men who lived and loved like him. Each who knew him personally will have a void that can never be filled and wouldn't choose to if they could. He will live on in his children and grandchildren forever. Mike married his high school sweetheart Marcia, in 1991. Left to carry out his legacy are his precious children Miles and wife, Shelbi, Maclane and wife, Mallory, Maguire and girlfriend, Kassidy and his daughter, Mally-Catherine all of Stonewall. He also was "Pa" to his precious grandchildren Witt and Maryn. He was looking so forward to meeting two new grandsons in the fall. Pa was always in high demand if spotted by his grandchildren as they were drawn to his love of the outdoors and love for them. Mike worked in the Septic Industry all his life, leaving a reputation that is unmatched. Mike made invaluable friendships in the racing community that prove family does not have to be blood to serve and love each other unconditionally. Their outpouring of love during this tragic time has been overwhelming. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Connie Parker and his father-in-law, Larry Bordelon. He is also survived by his parents, Jim and Debbie Parker; brothers, Steve Parker and wife Brandy and John Parker and wife, Megan; sisters-in-law, Reneé Cutchall and husband, Paul, and Belinda Austin. Mike had a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and nieces and nephews as well. In lieu of flowers the family has an account set up at Community Bank for college expenses.
