Graveside services for Nellie White Andrews, 96, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 30, 2018 at Vivian Cemetery with Pastor Mark Kennedy officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, November 29, 2018 at Rose-Neath Southside.
Nellie was born September 28, 1922 in Naborton, LA to E.H. and Mary Bell White and went to be with the Lord on November 28, 2018 in Shreveport, LA. She graduated from Northwestern State University and earned her master's through LSU. She was actively involved and served as a regent in the Frances Rebecca Harrison Chapter of the DAR. She taught in Louisiana and Texas for over 30 years and was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority. After retirement, she was actively involved in the operations of A&B Safety. She was the founder and manager of E.H. White Land and Timber, LLC. She was a dedicated member of Vivian Presbyterian Church. She loved her pets and children's pets. Nellie saw and experienced a wealth of changes in her lifetime, from the Great Depression to WWII and the ensuing world interactions.
Nellie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clyde S. Andrews; and sister, Mary Bell Belaire. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Timothy G. "Beau" Andrews and wife Michele; daughters, Penelope Heil and husband Fred and Aimee Barron and husband Randy; grandchildren, Allen Ehrlicher and wife Katherine, Bradley Barron, and Alexa Barron; and great-grandchildren, Henson and Cleo Ehrlicher.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society or a local animal shelter.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Brookdale Shreveport, the ongoing daily care provided by Gentle Hands with a Caring Heart Home Care Service, Bahiya Johnson, Ella Johnson, Zecoriah Mace, and St. Joseph Hospice.
