Nelta Anderson

Nelta Dean Smith Anderson (Blondie) was born July 5, 1934 in Heavener, Oklahoma and passed away on December 8, 2017 at the age of 83. Nelta lived most of her life in Logansport, LA; but traveled the U.S. with her husband, Jerry Anderson, during his pipelining career. Nelta was preceded in death by her parents, Louie Earl and Nellie Smith, her brother, L.E. Smith, Jr and brother-in-law, Mike Hughes. Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Jerry Anderson, of Logansport, sisters Martha Ford (Henry) of Tyler, Texas, Linda Hughes of Albuquerque, NM, sister-in-law Vera Smith of Texarkana, Ark., brother and sister-in-law David and Vicki Rogers of Center, TX, sons Randy Clark (Maridee) of Cary, NC, Rex Clark (Sheila) of Logansport, LA, Rick Clark (Lisa) of Mesquite, TX; grandchildren Amanda Cade (Ben), Stephen Clark, William Clark, Sarah Stoll (Adam), Matthew Clark (Cherish), Patrick Clark, Melanie Vaughn (Robbie), and Dawson Rogers. Nelta was affectionately called "Nina" or "Blondie" by numerous nieces and nephews. Nelta was a housewife and a mother who loved to cook, cross-stitch, quilt and do crafts of all kinds. She continued these activities until health issues became too burdensome. She also enjoyed her beautiful yard, bird-watching and playing cards. Visitation is Monday, December 11, 2017 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Logansport Chapel from 9 am-11:00 with a graveside service to follow at O.E. Price Cemetery in Logansport, LA. Pallbearers are Matt Clark, Patrick Clark, Raymond Kelly, David Rogers, Dawson Rogers and Derreck Rogers. The family wishes to extend our gratitude to all of Nelta's healthcare professionals for their support and compassionate care.
