Patricia “Pat” Garza Baker, 64, of Haughton, Louisiana, passed away Sunday, January 24, 2021 in Shreveport, Louisiana. A Memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 29, 2021 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Drive, Bossier City, Louisiana. Officiating will be Brother Franklin Walker. Visitation will be Friday from 11:00 a.m. until service time.
Pat was born May 13, 1956 to Ernest and Augustina Garza in Shreveport, Louisiana. She graduated from Fairview Alpha High School in Coushatta, Louisiana. Pat married Danny Baker and was a stay-at-home mom of three. Besides being a mom to her children, there was a countless number of kids that she claimed. Pat loved nothing more than spending every moment with her family. She had several nieces and nephews which she had given special nicknames for each of them. Then there were the very spoiled faithful fur baby companions, her dog, “Karma” and cat, “Lil’ Momma”.
Pat is preceded in death by her mother, Augustina Garza; father, Ernest Garza; stepmother, Lynn Shirley Garza; siblings, Louise Garza, Christina Garza, Ernest Garza Jr., Paul Garza, and Kelley McDonald. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Melinda Ketchum and husband, Doug; son, William “Bo” Baker; daughter, Shannon Maxwell and husband, David; granddaughter, Tristyn “Sunshine” Ketchum and fiancé, Hugo Cuellar; great-granddaughter, Nova Cuellar; siblings, Meshelle Gibb and husband, James, Christy Hutchins and husband, Lt. Dan, Gina Stegall and husband, Travis, Daniel Garza and wife, Stephanie; a host of nieces and nephews; and lifelong friend, ex-husband, and companion, Danny Baker.
Serving Pat as honorary pallbearers will be Jeremy “JoJo” Bell, Nick “Nickadoodle” Gibb, Bradley “Bradman” Garza, Hugo Cuellar, Chelsey “Juicy” Garris, Jamie “Pumpkin” Bell, Dakota “Cotyman” Edenfield, Stephen “Musky” Ashley and Michael “Mick” Garza.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations may be made to Willis Knighton Cancer Center, 2600 Kings Hwy., Shreveport, Louisiana 71103, in honor of Patricia Baker.
