Patricia Williams

A funeral service for Patricia "Patsy" Ann Baird Williams will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 4, 2021, at Rose-Neath Bossier Chapel. Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. until the time of service. Interment will be at Rose-Neath Cemetery in Bossier City, Louisiana. Reverend Tom Brown will be officiating the service. Patsy was born August 18, 1936, in Cale, Arkansas to Lynn and Bema Epperson Luck. She passed away May 30, 2021, in Bossier City, Louisiana. Patsy attended school in Cale, Arkansas and received her high school diploma in April 1955. As a child, Patsy grew up in a very small country community during depression and war time. Her father worked in the oil fields and later served sometime in the military which left her and her brother home with their mother to take care of the home. The lessons in survival and faith in God established a foundation that would serve her well through life's journey. She married James "Jimmy" Allen Baird from Homer, Louisiana when she was 16 and gave birth to their first son, Gary. They later moved to Minden, Louisiana and had two more sons, David and Pat. Jimmy was a heavy equipment operator and was often away from home for weeks at a time on road construction projects. But thanks to the experiences of her upbringing, she always took good care of her home and family. Patsy became involved in the Minden Little Theater where she played a role in several plays and was involved in community activities. She received her beautician's license and opened her own hair salon. She later took a job working at the ammunition plant in Minden assembling ammunitions for the government. After 12 years of marriage to Jimmy, they divorced, and she focused all her time and energy in providing for her family. Patsy continued her career working for the government in defense related projects and later became an inspector, sometimes working on high security military projects. She even had the opportunity to travel on Air Force One with the President. Her career carried her to New Boston, Texas at the Red River Army Depot and later to Roanoke, Virginia. She retired from the government with a GS-12 status which provided her with a secure retirement. In the late 70's, she married Rodney Williams, a truck driver from Oklahoma City. They later established a home in Grand Prairie, Texas. Rodney was often on the road during the week and home on the weekends. This appeared to be a perfect match as Rodney was full of life and brought many days of happiness to their relationship. After Patsy retired, they moved to a lake house on Lake Bob Sandlin in East Texas. Rodney passed away in 1998 and Patsy relocated to Bossier City. Patsy became very involved in working with the St. Jude's Dream Home program. She worked tirelessly supporting the cause and raising money to support the children's hospital. She made many friends there and was admired by many for her devotion and leadership. Patsy was a child of God and had a relationship with Jesus. She will be missed by her family, but they have the assurance that she will spend eternity with her creator in heaven. Honoring Patsy as pallbearers will be Gage Baird, Jason Baird, Jeremiah Baird, Landon Baird, Parker Baird, and Kevin Scott. Patsy is preceded in death by her husband, Rodney Williams and her parents. She is survived by her sons, Gary Lynn Baird, David Allen Baird, and James Patrick Baird; grandsons, Jason Baird, Jeremy Baird, Landon Baird, and Parker Baird, two great-grandsons, Gage, Jeremiah, and Ronin Baird; and brother, Jerry Gene Luck.
