Patsy Elizabeth Davis Jones

Patsy Elizabeth Davis Jones of Shreveport went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, January 22, 2021 after a hard fought battle with Covid-19. Patsy was born on October 16, 1937 to Ralph Lyon Davis and Willie Loyce Ivey Davis in Minden, Louisiana. She graduated from Minden High School in 1955 where she was active in the All State Choir, Library Club and the Crimson Tidetts. Patsy attended Mary Hardin Baylor College in Belton, Texas with a major in music. While at MHBC she was a member of The Choraliers and MHBC Chorus. Patsy married the love of her life, Marvin Lynn Jones, on October 3, 1969 at Highland Baptist Church in Shreveport. They were married for 49 years before his passing. Patsy and Marvin were faithful members of Highland Baptist Church and then later First Baptist Church of Shreveport. They were members of the choir at both churches. Patsy\'s beautiful voice was her gift from God and she faithfully used it to serve Him. Patsy was employed by Dunn & Bradstreet as a secretary, later for Swepco as a secretary in the Engineering Department and retired from the State of Louisiana as a clerk for the Child Protective Service department. She was a magnificent cook. We never went to see her without being sent home with a sour cream pound cake, fresh apple pound cake or sometimes both! Patsy was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her brothers, James L. Davis and wife, Bea of Greenville, Texas and Ralph L. Davis, Jr. and wife, Martha of Blanchard, Louisiana and nephew, Joe Keith Davis. She is survived by sisters-in-law, Mary Brown and Brenda Jones, both of Stanley, Louisiana; nieces, Gloria Branch of Longview, Texas and her children, Kevin and Summer, Jeanie Duke and husband, Ron Downing of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas and son, Bryan, Barbara "BJ" Hickman and husband, David of Long Beach, California and their children, Joshua and wife, Stacey and Lyndsea and husband, Chad and Melissa Cagle and husband, Ronnie of Blanchard, Louisiana and her daughters, Tori, Chelsea and husband Dalton, and Ashley; nephews, Larry Paul Davis of Greenville, Texas and his children, Larry Pat, Chance and wife, Ashli, Andrew and wife, Megan, and Alyssa Davis, J. Michael Davis of Princeton, Texas, Robert Davis and wife, Amy of Karnack, Texas and son Joshua, George Davis and wife, Melissa of Blanchard, Louisiana and daughter, Samantha and Eric Bodin & wife, Jan of Karnack, Texas and children, Christina, Jessica, and Amanda and as Patsy would say, too many great-great nieces and nephews to count. The family wishes to express special thanks to the 2nd floor staff and Critical Care Team at Willis-Knighton Pierremont. Your daily updates made it so much easier for our family. A private family burial will be held Saturday, January 30, 2021 in Stanley, Louisiana with Reverend Ronney Joe Webb officiating. The family plans to hold a Celebration of Life later in the year as Covid conditions improve.
