Patsy Hoy

Mrs. Patsy Hoy, 85 years of age, passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 in Shreveport, Louisiana. She was born August 28, 1934 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Graveside services will be held Friday, July 3, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Cemetery in Bossier City, Louisiana. Dr. Gene Gibson will officiate. Patsy married the love of her life, Rev. Charles William Hoy and together they devoted their entire life to being missionaries in Central America and Mexico. They had two children, Charles and Penny Hoy. While being a devoted mother, Patsy was also a kindergarten teacher, a Certified Nursing Assistant in home health, and then went on to volunteer for many years at Highland Hospital. In her free time she loved to read, with one of her favorite authors being John Grisham. Colorful handmade quilts adorned her home and were passed on to her loved ones throughout the years. No matter where she went or what the circumstance, she came with a servants heart and open arms. To know her was to love her, and to be loved by her was a blessing. Above everything else she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and a woman of true faith for the Lord. Mrs. Hoy was preceded in death by her parents, Thelma and Elmer Herring; and grandson, Heath Edwin Mann. She is survived by her loving husband Rev. Charles William Hoy; son, Charles W. Hoy III and wife Susan; daughter, Penny Hardey and partner Terry Gibson; five grandchildren, Cami Jorio , Chris Hoy, Phillip Hoy, Coulter Hardey, and Jennifer Hardey; and 10 great-grandchildren. The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: For thou art with me; Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: Thou anointest my head with oil; My cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life: And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever.
