A funeral service honoring the life of Patsy Jean Marrs will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2020, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall Street, Shreveport, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Pastor Jimmy Eppinette and Don Tinsley. A visitation with the family will be held at 1:00 p.m. until time of service. Patsy Jean Marrs was born February 3, 1940 in Marshall, Texas to Mattie Louise Craig and Robert Neal Hamill Holtzclaw and passed away peacefully surround by loved ones Friday, February 7, 2020 in Bossier City, Louisiana. Patsy enjoyed attending her bible study group, Faith Class Sunday School Class, at Northwood Baptist Church as well as the Shreveport Little Theater. She was a member of the North Highlands Women's Club. One of her favorite things to do was go on trips with friends Marylou, Dinah, Julie and Sena. Her granddaughters and great-grandchildren, "Doll Babies" as she called them, were truly the light of her eyes. Nenaw will be cherished forever in their hearts. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Lester Lee Marrs; daughter, Melissa Gaye Marrs; brother, Robert "Bob" Holtzclaw and son-in-law, Randy McClure. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Melinda M. Basco and husband, Larry, and Michelle M. McClure; sister-in-law, Pat Holtzclaw; granddaughters, Melissa Denise Brooks (Mackie), Christina Marie Brooks (Dustin), Brandy Lynn Corbett and husband, Dayton; great-grandchildren, Maddison Grace Crews and Dillon Lee Crews and nieces, Megan H. Smith and Mandy H. Fultz. Serving Patsy as honorary pallbearers will be Larry A. Basco, Dayton R. Corbett, Dustin L. Crews, and Mackie W. Byles. The family would like to express special thanks to doctors and staff at Bossier Internal Medicine, Northwest Nephrology, Advanced Cardiology Associates, Kathleen Beaubouff with Red River Home Health and the sweet and caring staff at Intensive Specialty Hospital. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial may be made to Feist-Weiller Cancer Center, 1405 Kings Highway, Shreveport, LA 71103, Parkinson's Foundation, 200 SE 1st Street, Suite 800, Miami, FL 33131, American Diabetes Association, 2451 Crystal Drive, Suite 900, Arlington, VA 22202 or the charity of the donor's choice.
